The official Nike collaboration start back in 2019 with one of their earliest creations being the topic of the moment: the unreleased A Ma Maniere Jordan 1 sample, the “Hand Wash Cold”. 

However, the unreleased pair did not affect the success of the brand. Actually, ever since they started working together, A Ma Maniere and Nike dropped some epic releases. And, naturally, our favorite releases from the pair always come down to Air Jordans. We’re talking about the A Ma Maniere Jordan 2 AIRNESS, the Violet Ores 4s, and the Burgundy Crush duos! But, although these releases were nothing short of epic… learning about a lost release potential makes us green with envy!

Therefore, we’re here to break down the unreleased A Ma Maniere Jordan 1 sample in the “Hand Wash Cold” colorway. Maybe get to the bottom of why this release never hit the shelves. We’re actually indignant… as CONSUMERS!

A MA MANIERE JORDAN 1 SAMPLE

So, the A MA Maniere Jordan 1 sample is the second official release from the collaboration between the two. The “Hand Wash Cold” project was something that took inspiration from care, community, and cultural wisdom. It was part of a two-sneaker capsule including the Air Force 1. However, the Air Jordan 1 obviously became an unexplored concept or perhaps a Friends and Family Jordan. 

The A Ma Maniere Jordan 1 sample in “Hand Wash Cold” features a simple white and black color scheme. It comes with smooth and textured leather across its uppers with a white base and black leather accents. The iconic Swoosh comes in a snakeskin pattern and the collar comes with pebbled contrasting black leather. Other features include quilted satin lining the collar! But, one of the most notable details is the un-stitched collar flaps. Something that we’ve never seen on general release pairs! 

Furthermore, other details on the A Ma Maniere Jordan 1 sample are the “MANIERE” logo on the back. And, the embroidered ball and wings graphics on the collar flap WITHOUT the Air Jordan branding! Finally, we have the “washing instructions” on the heel! The Jordans end at artificially-aged midsoles and black rubber outsoles!

As for the release details of the A Ma Maniere Jordan 1 sample… well, it’s close to never. So, don’t hold your breath for the release. The “Hash Wash Cold” does not appear to be getting an official release date anytime soon. But, maybe the Whitaker Group and the Swoosh will decide to revisit the concept in the future.
