The world of non-fungible tokens really has a way of attracting all kinds of folks. And so, former U.S. President Donald Trump is definitely not immune to the virtual charm. THE DONALD TRUMP NFT
So, the Donald Trump NFT collection came out in celebration of the Trump Presidency. Melania Trump created the POTUS TRUMP NFT collection using usamemorabilia.com and powered by Parler. Parler is a social media platform that has an NFT marketplace called DeepRedSky – a Solana-based marketplace.
The Donald Trump NFT collection dropped on February 21st, 2022 as part of the POTUS TRUMP project. The collection features what Melania Trump described as “iconic moments from President Trump’s administration”. It came with 10,000 Donald Trump NFT designs divided into 5 original categories. Also, each category includes both gold and platinum non-fungible tokens. These NFTs cost $50 each with a randomly generated pick. The categories include:
- Mount Rushmore Platinum (edition of 1,000)
- Mount Rushmore Gold (edition of 1,500)
- Liberty Platinum (edition of 1,250)
- Liberty Gold (edition of 1,750)
- White House Platinum (edition of 750)
- White House Gold (edition of 1,500)
- Air Force One Platinum (edition of 500)
- Air Force One Gold (edition of 1,000)
- First Lady Platinum (edition of 250)
- First Lady Gold (edition of 500)
When people asked the former First Lady, Melania Trump, about the Donald Trump NFT collection, here’s what she said:
“I am proud to expand upon my NFT platform and am honored to be able to recognize important moments in our Nation’s history. I look forward to collaborating with others to offer truly special, authentic parts of US history.”
Also, since the minting of the Donald Trump NFT is random, you’ll get a SURPRISE! We’re not really sure how we feel about a Trump surprise, though.
A few days ago, on December 15th, the Donald Trump NFT collection stuck again with a new drop! Trump launched a collection of NFT trading cards with NFT utilities like IRL invitations to gala dinners and meet-and-greets. But, the trading cards did feature the former president in different guises like a superhero, an astronaut, and a Nascar driver. He also suggested that they make “a great Christmas gift”…Â
Also, the collection includes 45,000 cards for $99 each. Sales of the collection reached an all-time high of 3.5 MILLION dollars on December 17th. But then, the value dropped to about 150 thousand dollars on December 22nd, according to CryptoSlam.
In all honesty, we think this is a bit too weird for our liking. Even for NFTs. Some people have hinted that Trump is trying to fund all the legal battles he’s stuck in. For us, the Donald Trump NFT is just not it.
