HOW TO MEASURE SHOE SIZE
What you’ll need to measure your shoe size at home:
– Two pieces of paper larger than your feet
– Pen or pencil (whatever you got at hand)
– A ruler or measuring tape
– Actual tape
TIP – Before you measure your foot size, put on a pair of socks (something that you usually would wear). Also, we recommend that you do this measurement technique by the end of your day. Usually, after a full day, your feet will be at their widest point.
STEP #1
First, the most important step of learning how to measure shoe size at home is taping the paper. You have to tape the paper on the floor in a way that it does NOT slip whatsoever. Or, you won’t get a proper measurement.
So, plant one foot on the paper and press your foot firmly on the ground. You can also use a chair if you like. But, make sure your foot is flat on the paper.
STEP #2
Then, comes the hard part of learning how to measure shoe size! Trace around your foot, or get someone from your friends or family to help you do that. But, you just have to make sure that the pen is at exactly 90 degrees – completely straight. Don’t tilt the pen at your toes or at the heel. Every inch counts!
STEP #3
Next, measure the length of your foot from the center of the heel) to the tip of your longest toe. Also, mark the widest points of your forefoot to measure the distance between them. This way you’ll measure the width of your foot – usually at the bunion joint. And so, you can determine if you have wide or narrow feet.
STEP #4
And then, repeat the same process on your other foot. And so, you’ve learned how to measure shoe size! Now, all you have to do is find your perfect fit! If there are slight differences in your foot measurements, make sure to use the measurements of your larger foot.
Finally, just compare your measurements to the ones in the following size chart to determine your perfect size! All according to men’s or women’s shoe US sizes.
