AIO Bot - Kobe 6 Reverse GrinchKobe fans get ready for a sweet surprise! The Kobe-Nike collaboration is back in the making after the star’s unfortunate death in 2020. After the Swoosh incident, things were left unclear, with Nike waiting for Vanessa Bryant’s decision on the future of the collaboration. Luckily, the collab carried on and 2022 was a witness to the preparation of new projects and releases. And so, this year, the collab is back with the release of the Kobe 6 Reverse Grinch!

The Swoosh Incident

In 2021, Vanessa Bryant designed sneakers with Nike honoring her daughter Gianna, who perished in the southern California helicopter incident. However, Nike didn’t take such a wise choice when they sold those sneakers to a third party without the consent of Vanessa Bryant, which made her take to instagram to explain what happened.

The MAMBACITA shoes are NOT approved for sale, wrote Bryant. I wanted it to be sold to honor my daughter with ALL of the proceeds benefitting our @mambamambacitasports foundation, but I did not re-sign the Nike contract to sell these shoes. (The MAMBACITA shoes were not approved to be made in the first place).

This dispute made Bryant stop the contract with Nike, but the good news is that things seem to have finally settled back down as the Kobe 6 Reverse Grinch will be dropping soon!

Kobe 6 Reverse Grinch

Rumors about the Kobe 6 Reverse Grinch sneaker have been hitting since 2021. And earlier this year, we finally got official images of the style of the kicks. And let’s just say that the wait was worth it because the duo reinitiated the collab with the release of an inverse version of the iconic Grinch colorway.

So, this Reverse Grinch Kobe 6 comes in a Bright Crimson, Electric Green, and Black color scheme. Bright Crimson covers most of the kicks, starting from the midsole to the scales of the upper. And this colorway complements the hints of Electric Green found on the shoelaces and Kobe branding on the tongue and heel. Elsewhere, you’ve got a classic Black Swoosh on the lateral side.

Finally, the Kobe 6 Reverse Grinch is set to hit Nike SNKRS and selected Nike retailers on December 15th, 2023. It will also retail for $180.

How to Buy?

With this collaboration hitting the stores after a long hiatus, expect sneakerheads to be rushing to score a pair (or more) of their own. Even though there still ain’t no clear and definite information when it comes to the stock number, expect the copping experience to be a tough one. Becuase not only does the new Nike Kobe 6 Reverse Grinch make a good flex and look good among your sneaker collection. But resale-wise? Well, we can safely say you can be making some good cash on the aftermarket if you manage to catch even 1 W!
