December is here and with it comes the release of a highly-awaited new blue Yeezy 350 – the COMPACT SLATE BLUE.
This happens to be the second time that Kanye releases a Yeezy 350 replacing the upper with another material. It first happened with the Mono Pack back in the first quarter of the year 2021. And although we weren’t quite feeling the monofilament mesh at the time, the pack’s doing pretty well! This time around, Ye is replacing the Primeknit for a knitted material that’s perfect for Winter!
Winterizing Yeezys is not something Kanye has done in the past, but this year’s different. Yeezys for all obviously means Yeezys for ALL SEASONS as well. This kinda explains the latest release of the Yeezy NSLTD and the KNIT RNR BT. We very much expect that the sneaker boots trend is going to be the CRAZE of the Winter season. But, as for Winter sneakers, the new blue Yeezy 350 COMPACT SLATE BLUE might just take the cake!
THE NEW BLUE YEEZY 350 COMPACT
The new blue Yeezy 350 COMPACT – AKA the CMPCT – looks very different from all the other 350 colorways. Right off the bat, you’re gonna notice the change in the upper material on these new Yeezys.
The sock-like Yeezy 350 COMPACT comes with a slightly higher ankle collar but doesn’t actually count as a high-top. A high-top 350? Now THAT would be something! It also comes with an all-new Yeezy lacing system and keeps its traditional full-length BOOST and ridged rubber outsoles. The biggest difference, however, is the new construction that takes inspiration from the YZY BSKTBL KNIT. It has a patterned upper that comes in different shades of SLATE BLUE that compliment the contrasting black laces. The Yeezy 350 COMPACT has completely knitted uppers forming streaks around the midsoles, towards the heels. On the other hand, the toe boxes and midfoot feature a more abstract design knitting.

Moreover, other details include a pull tab that you can use to tighten these new blue Yeezy 350s! We assume that the sizing for these should be the same as the other 340s – check here. Knit fabric does have a tendency to shrink which is problematic during the Winter. That’ll be interesting to see! The Yeezy 350 COMPACT SLATE BLUE will also come in a SLATE RED version later in 2022.
