As if you needed another reason to love Supreme. Or more hype to choose from among 2021 releases! We’re barely halfway through January, and 2021 already looks packed with sneakers worth shedding the cash. But one sneaker we’re all drooling over is the all-new Supreme Dunk, dropping in 4 colorways. So Supreme and Nike go back. Like way back. Like back to when lining up was your only to join the cool guys. Back then, no sneaker bot could help you check out. And getting multiples was a DREAM. But now with sneaker bots, and Supreme bots upping their performance every drop, it feels like all you gotta do is pick a shoe.
Supreme Dunk – A Long Loaded History:
The Nike x Supreme relationship goes back to 2002. What is actually two decades, seems like an era of success and breathtaking drops. The sportswear and streetwear giants worked together on many releases ranging from sneakers to apparel and accessories. So, looking back at the Nike Supreme history, those mega-brands reimagined many Nike silhouettes. But in terms of money and profit, the best performing sneakers are a high and a low Supreme dunk. Supreme really knew how to mark the history of the SB Dunk.
Cement Supreme Dunk – 2002
Hitting it off with numbers, the first incredible Supreme Dunk sneakers is the 2002 Cement in Black and White colorways. The low dunks which retailed for ONLY $65, make an average reselling price of over $4,800 on StockX. However, you can buy it at a bargain price if you’re ok flexing used shoes. Which is also pretty good for the environment! Used pairs of the White cement Supreme Dunk are available on GOAT.com with prices starting at $2,200.
For its first collab with Nike, the American skateboarding lifestyle brand intended to turn the basketball Dunk for skaters. This supreme SB dunk shows off the classic Air Jordan 3 cement print over a leather base. The Swoosh released only 750 pairs of the black colorway and 500 of the whites. Unlike other limited quantity shoe releases, this iteration was a peaceful one. Release news circulated around the skateboard community via word of mouth. And sneakerheads waited in a civilized line to get their pair from Supreme stores.
High Dunks – 2003
One year after the striking debut of the Low Dunks, Supreme dropped the High Dunk Pro SB. Those High Dunks came were inspired by the “Be True To Your School” College Dunk campaign. Furthermore, the Supreme Dunk High from 2003 released in “University Blue,” “College-Orange”, and “Varsity Red.” This High Supreme Dunk has a faux-croc overlay, a golden stars pattern upper, and an oversized padded tongue. FYI, the upper originally had a Nike logo pattern instead of the golden stars. However, Nike rejected this branding strategy which led to our gold stars.
Although the number of sales on StockX of this version is low, the average sale ranges from $3,500 all the way to $4,280! And if that doesn’t get you excited about the upcoming Dunks, I don’t know what will!
Supreme Dunk 2021- The Shining Star
The upcoming low Supreme Dunk brought us some serious 2003 vibes. The OG faux-croc pattern and golden stars are back again! But this time in four new colorways: “Hyper Blue,” “Mean Green,” “Barkroot Brown” and “Black.”
Release date: Spring of 2021
Resale price: +$1,899
When comparing this Low SB Dunk to those of 2020 and the upcoming 2021 Dunks, we have no doubt Supreme Dunk will hit hard! The bad news is that the 2021 shining stars will be available in limited quantities. With this sale strategy, we do expect the resale to be crazy! But no worries, As 4 colorways of the Supreme Dunk Low will be available, you’ll get four times the chances to cop! However, without a Supreme bot, your chances to cop the best dunks of the year are closer to NONE.
