What Is Web4?

What is Web4, you ask? Well, duh. That’s what brought you here in the first place. So, let’s start from the beginning. Things started with Web1, which is the first version of the Internet. As in the whole entirety of the internet. So, you can think of this first version as the rough draft.

With time and through extensive developmental research, the internet upgraded to a more advanced level: Web2. Which is also known as The Dynamic Web or The Read-Write Web. This new web is what the internet is all about today. It’s the reason behind the development of mobile applications, web pages, etc.

After that came a more developed version of the web: Web3. Also known as The Read-Write-Own Web. Its main focus is offering equal access to the web, using cryptocurrency in transactions, and decentralizing control. Click below to learn all about the evolution of the web- up till Web3– in detail.

You might think that the web reached its utmost developmental level with the introduction of Web3. So, what more can the internet offer users than it already is offering? You’d be surprised, fam! They say humans are full of greed. They never are satisfied with what they already have or where they already are at. Others might call such people innovative, geniuses, or even creative. Which they indeed are.

But what exactly happens when those same people work harder toward making the web a solely-functioning entity with a 100% decentralized system? In other words, what happens when experts pull back and let the internet take control? Well, Web4 happens. In fact, that’s the whole point of Web4. So, what is Web4, exactly? Let’s find out together!

AIO What Is Web4

Can Web4 Become A Reality?

What is Web4? Put simply, Web4 is the ideal version of Web3. You must know that nothing on the internet is perfect. As in there will always be things to change here and there. And the concept of Web4 suggests that reaching the utmost level of web development lies in making the web itself 100% decentralized. Put differently, the whole point of Web4.0 is to reach an ideal stage of networking. Which allows users to interact with each other with zero intermediaries. In which Web3 doesn’t offer. It’s decentralized to a certain point, but there still are intermediaries involved.

It’s worth stressing that Web4 is the epitome of the web. Meaning that it’s what a perfect web would look like. But is there anything as perfect in this world? Exactly! Shit’s like a dream or a theory. So, making Web4 come into reality requires the Internet’s next generation to put in more than extra effort. And who knows, a considerable amount of people have called many things impossible in the past, until the next generation came and proved their ancestors wrong.

What Is Web4: What Benefits Can Web4 Offer Users And Devices?

As we mentioned above, the main reason behind developing a completely decentralized web is to increase security and privacy by allowing users to have full control over their data. But it doesn’t stop here. This decentralization also includes economies. Through Web4, people can join and participate in decentralized marketplaces. So, if some parts meet their doom, the market and the network as a whole wouldn’t be affected.

Also, nowadays, when we speak of technology, the Internet, or anything related, we got to mention AI. Artificial intelligence became so integrated into our systems that you can’t mention anything internet-related without including it somewhere.

All in all, Web4 mainly promises maximum user security, more system transparency, and an opportunity for higher innovation levels. Is it possible, or is it not possible? This is one question nobody can answer. But at the end of the day, no one ever thought the development of Web2 and Web3 was ever possible. So, let’s wait and see! Or maybe let the next generation see, because you know we might be gone by then….
