Next up on the Adidas Dragon Ball Z calendar is the battle between Cell and Son Gohan. After the huge success of the first release, which included Goku and Frieza’s sneakers, all eyes are now locked at the second phase.
The second phase of releasing the Adidas Dragon Ball Z collection will include Cell’s Prophere and Son Gohan’s Deerupt. And as big as that first part of the release was, we expect this one to be just as crazy. Expect the Cell Prophere, and Son Gohan Deerupt to drop on October 27, 2018.
Adidas Dragon Ball Z x Prophere “Cell”
The whole colorway of the shoe nods to Cell’s character of the Dragon Ball Z manga.
The latest “official pictures” of the Adidas Dragon Ball Z Cell Prophere show some new and very interesting details. The lightly flecked green uppers don’t look so simple anymore.
Cell’s unique take on the Adidas Prophere offers a combination of green and purple along the uppers and tongue, with a scale-like green, black, and purple pattern across the PrimeKnit. Additional blue accents can be seen on the inner collar and heel of the shoes. This pair’s insoles flaunt a mix of Japanese characters in addition to the famous Dragon Balls that all characters from the series want to collect.
Thanks to Sneakernews, we also got a first look at the very special box that will house this mythical pair. The shoe box along with its insoles, feature Adidas Dragon Ball Z branding in that same bold yellow and red typeface that appears before every episode.
Adidas Dragon Ball Z x Deerupt “Son Gohan”
In October, the battle will be between Cell and Son Gohan, who is embodied through the all-new Adidas Deerupt.
As Adidas describes it, the Deerupt is a lightweight and collapsible sneaker. It features a unique web-covered design with a stretchy mesh that hugs the foot. The flexible net structure that wraps the uppers and midsoles provides light compression for extra comfort. Although we’ve seen several iterations of this new silhouette, Son Gohan’s version is a little different.
Retail Vs. Resale
Originally, the retail price of the Prophere is $120, and $100 for the Deerupt. That’s for the regular non-DBZ versions of the sneakers. And as much as we would like those tags to keep such prices, they could get a little higher. But it’s ok as long as the resale value is worth it.
Reselling any of the Adidas Dragon Ball Z sneakers should make you a whole load of money. So, you should by all mean cop as many pairs of this collection as possible. Whether you want to flex or sell for some extra cash, the Adidas Dragon Ball Z is surely the highlight of 2018.
Three More to Come
We will have three sneakers left of this collection. Majin Buu’s Kamanda and Vegeta’s Ultra Tech will be dropping in November. These will be followed by the release of the final sneaker representing the Eternal Dragon, Shenron, in December represented by the Adidas EQT MID ADV. According to previous sneaker leakers, there’s an eighth shoe in the collection, Shenlong.
