Virgil Abloh Exhibit in Miami - AIO BotIt’s already been a year since the passing of Virgil Abloh on November 28th, 2021. However, a lot of things happened during this year that proved how everlasting Virgil’s memory will be. The Off-White x Nike collaboration lives on – including his work with Louis Vuitton! And now, we’ve got the new Virgil Abloh Exhibit in Miami: “The Code c/o Architecture”. An exhibit with Nike commemorates Virgil Abloh and his work during Art Basel.

Shannon Abloh’s statement about the Virgil Abloh Exhibit in Miami:

Virgil and Nike thrived together because he understood the brand’s role as a cornerstone of culture while Nike understood the importance of truly supporting creatives and their visions.
This beautiful four-day experience at Miami Art Week will honor their legacy together and champion both Virgil’s open-source methods and his genuine commitment to collaborating with and inspiring others.

So, the Virgil Abloh exhibit opened in Miami’s Rubell Museum from December 1st to December 4th. The contemporary museum showcasing Virgil’s work includes both seen and unseen designs and prototypes of Off-White x Air Jordans and Nike sneakers. Keep reading for an inside look at the exhibit!

So, the Virgil Abloh exhibit in Miami showcases six different sections of Virgil’s designs with Nike of his four-year collaboration. This includes other creative work by the late designer According to Nike and VA Securities,

The exhibition honors Abloh’s creative legacy, highlighting his long-term partnership with Nike, and shares design methodologies that were central to his creative identity. The exhibition and its related programs are designed to showcase his methodological principles — known as Abloh’s Codes — which are meant to be applicable to any medium, product or space. The Codes made his work, and particularly The Ten with Nike, both easily identifiable and translatable.

Basically, this Virgil Abloh exhibit serves to express the CODES that will shape Nike’s partnership with VA securities. In other words, they want to establish a framework for an open-source institution and to create great designs. And so, the exhibit showcase tons of different colorways developed during the release of the Off White Dunks and Air Force 1s. Also, it introduces the new Off White x Nike Terra Forma – dropping December 21st in “Summit White” and “Wheat”. And, we can also expect a lot more colorways of the Terra Forma down the line! This is the first Nike original sneaker designed from scratch by Nike and Virgil Abloh designers in 2022!
