NBA NFTs: The Association

What Is The NBA NFTs aka the Association: the Association Series is a series of trading cards consisting of 30,000 non-fungible tokens. They feature 125 variations of players across this year’s 16 NBA Playoff roster teams. So, 125 NFTs per 240 player rosters!

Live Data Feed: This NBA NFTs collection is connected to live data feeds and computations for each team and player via Chainlink Oracle. In other words, this is what will change the NFT’s appearance automatically! The more a player accomplishes during the 2022 NBA Playoffs, the more the NFT gets visual changes. This includes backgrounds, accessories, and emojis. So, it all depends on the player’s on-court performance during the playoffs.
Blind Mint: So, the NBA NFTs aka the Association are issued via a blind mint. This means no one will know which NBA Playoff player they will receive before the launch. They are assigned randomly and transparently using the Chainlink VRF – giving everyone a fair and equal minting chance.

Release: The NBA NFTs released on April 22nd, 2022 with 75 NFTs for every 240 players competing in this year’s NBA Playoffs. This totaled 18,000 mintable NFTs: 16,000 for their Discord members and 2,000 to their top collectors on NBA’s Top Shot.
However, during the release, there was an issue with the smart contract that prevented a lot of users to mint the NFT. This caused the number of NBA NFTs to increase from 18,000 to 30,000 to compensate.

How to Mint the NBA NFTs: So, to be eligible for the blind mint, you needed dedication! You had to be out of the top 50 on any of the 30 NBA or 12 WNBA team Leaderboards. This was on LiveToken where fans qualified based on a first-come, first-served basis and joined the NBA Discord group earliest.
It’s pretty much similar to a whitelist situation where your dedication and luck will make all the difference. You join the NBA Discord super early and connect your wallet to theassociationnft.com/wallet. This will make you eligible for the blind mint.
Cost: Finally, how much do the NBA NFTs ‘The Association’ cost? Well, they’re actually FREE to mint! The only thing you actually have to pay is the gas fees after you connect your wallet. In other words, this all feels more like an NBA NFT airdrop! Also, you should note that every wallet minted ONE NFT only – leveling the field!
