Adidas Game of Thrones Collection Making Us Wish Winter Comes ASAP

Winter is coming, and so is the Adidas Game of Thrones Collection. And with all the unfinished stories we’re left with after the 7th season, we can use a pair or 2 to keep us waiting a bit longer.

As 2019 approaches, fans around the world are getting more excited about the airing of the final season of Game of Thrones. A season that will, hopefully, give us closure to all the insanity that’s been going on between the seven kingdoms of Essos and Westeros since 2011. Now, after waiting for almost a year, we may have a couple more months until the 8th season of the series airs. We will also have to wait around that same amount of time to get our hands, or just eyes, on the Adidas Game of Thrones collection.

Adidas has been following a different strategy when it comes to marketing new sneakers. Rather than trying to create hype from scratch, the 3 stripes brand decided to utilize the fame of some TV shows to its advantage. First, it started with the Adidas Dragon Ball Z collection dropping in August. And now, the latest collaborative work will be the Adidas Game of Thrones collection debuting sometime in 2019. We assume around the same time the final season airs, which is not set as of yet.

We have the Yeezy Mafia to thank for the heads-up and the exclusive renderings. The collection will include 6 different colorways of the infamous Adidas Ultra Boost sneakers.

Stock Status

Ever since the sneaker community knew of the very high stock level of the Yeezy Cream Whites, sneakerheads are on the lookout for the next big release. So knowing that the Adidas Game of Thrones collection will be limited is like a breath of fresh air. And as we all know in this sneaker game, limited means money. And if the sneakers happen to drop around the time when the final season airs, you’re in for a fortune!

Adidas Game of Thrones House Stark

The collection features the 3 main houses on the run to rule the 7 kingdoms, or who’s left of them. In addition to 3 game-changing major players in this story. So we will see Houses Stark, Lannister, and Targaryen, as well as 3 sneakers representing the white walkers, the night’s watch, and House Targaryen’s all-mighty dragons.

Although all we have for now are mere renderings of the actual sneakers, we’ll take whatever we get, and appreciate it. But keep in mind the actual look of each sneaker may differ a little. So, we’ll get to compare once the official images come out.

This was the sneaker to first appear and to announce this glorious collaboration was the Ultra Boost House Stark. featuring Wolf-grey uppers, with black accents on the toes, 3 stripes, and heel. in addition to Black Boost soles and an oh-so-convenient tag on the heel that says “Winter is Coming”.

House Lannister

Among all 6 sneakers in this collection, the one representing house Lannister looks by far the fanciest. And it’s quite explainable after all, they’re the ones ruling the kingdom now, regardless of how they got there. So a blood red Ultra Boost, with accents of gold on the outer and the 3 stripes, and a tag on the heel saying “Hear Me Roar” for the Lannisters.

The Night’s Watch

“Night gathers, and now my watch begins. It shall not end until my death. I shall take no wife, hold no lands, father no children, shall wear no crowns, and win no glory.  I shall live and die at my post. I am the sword in the darkness. I’m the watcher on the walls, I’m the shield that guards the realms of men. I pledge my life and honor to the Night’s Watch, for this night and all the nights to come.”

Oh, these words are giving us some major Chills!
Black, it is for the Night’s Watch sneaker. This version features black outsoles with white speckles across, in addition to white Boost soles, white toe, heel caging, and tag. This tag, however, says “Night’s Watch”.

White Walkers

So it only makes sense that the White Walkers’ shoes be white, with all their Ice cold looks, and them living behind the wall and so on. The Adidas Game of Thrones White Walkers sneakers features white uppers speckled with blue, and white laces, white Boost midsoles, and contrasting black outsoles. Blue-ish accents, that match the White Walkers’ Blue glowing eyes, cover the toe, heel, and caging. The final touch is a black heel tag announcing that “Winter is Here”. If only it is here! We seriously can’t wait for 2019.

House Targaryen

Tthese sneakers represent the First of Her Name, Mother of Dragons, and Daenerys of House Targaryen. Well, since she’s the only one in her family who’s still alive, as far as we know. These sneakers are fit for the Khaleesi with silver hair. Boasting Cream-golden primeknit, with silver on the 3 stripes caging, and on the stripes going across the uppers. More of this light golden hue can be found on the toe, heel, and laces. The Boost midsoles, as well as the outsoles, are in white. The gold-creamy signature heel tag says “Fire and Blood”.

 Adidas Game of Thrones House Targaryen Dragons

Of course, it wouldn’t be a Game of Thrones collection if the most powerful creatures in that series didn’t get a pair. So last but not least, we have the Adidas Game of Thrones House Targaryen Dragons sneakers. Black all over the sneaker, heel, outsoles, midsoles, 3 stripes, and primeknit. Along the uppers, you will find fire-themed stripes in hues of red, orange, and yellow. The heel tag is red this time, and matches that of the Mother of Dragons saying “Fire and Blood”.

If it was up to us we would fast-forward time to 2019 just to get our hands on this collection ASAP. And to know how things end and who will get the throne eventually. Meanwhile, we have another collaboration the three stripes brand is dropping soon, the Adidas Dragon Ball Z collection. It’s not GoT but it can sure make the wait more bearable and can make you some serious cash so you can cop the next crazy collab.

Update: How it All Ended!Adidas Game of Thrones Resale 2019

We don’t wanna force our opinion on you, but as far as we’re concerned things didn’t go too well. Neither with the sneaker collection nor with the show. Although we can say that the sneakers did a bit better. The show’s finale left us hanging, not knowing the fates of our favorite characters. Except for Daenerys who will be missed. Now back to our Ultraboost sneakers.

Unlike how the eternal battle ended with the White Walkers losing, their sneakers didn’t! And now the Icy Blue Adidas Ultraboosts are selling for the highest average among all 6 sneakers of the pack. And while $57 is not a profit worth mentioning, it is worth something compared to the others. So, we’ll take it.

3 Years Later

The GoT Adidas Ultraboosts are getting there in terms of resale value. Not sure what really gave them this boost. Could it be the House of Dragons airing recently? Or is it Adidas’ breakup with Kanye, and not having Yeezys to gush about anymore? While Adidas fully intends on selling Yeezys without Ye’s branding, things aren’t looking great on the resale market. So maybe, Adidas GoT holders feel the weight of their pairs, and won’t be selling so cheap anymore!
