So, Adidas came out with the new Adilette 22 slides. Okay, and…?
Well, they’re officially called the Adidas Yeezy Slides lookalikes and even called official fake Yeezys! Yikes… And, we’re not even talking about those cheap Walmart knockoffs. These are Three-Stripes-stamped and approved by Adidas.
Also, they happen to look like the exact fraternal twin of the infamous Yeezy Slides! Naturally, Kanye West is not too happy about this. In fact, he’s pretty mad about it.
And, for once, he has every right to be! For those of you who don’t know, Kanye and Adidas have an ongoing partnership dating back to 2014. It started right after Ye left Nike for a better deal with the Three Stripes. Together they’ve created some of the most monumental sneakers in history like the Yeezy 350s, Yeezy 700s, epic Foam Runners… And, the Adidas Yeezy Slides. So, it makes sense for this Adidas slides Yeezy wannabe’s to come as a nasty shock to Ye. Let’s talk about it.

ADIDAS SLIDES YEEZY RIPOFF
The Adidas Adilette Slides were all the rage back in 2010 so it’s not exactly new to the scene! However, on May 31st of this year, Adidas announced the Adilette 22 – a textured open-toed slide. One that is heavily similar to the Adidas slides Yeezy created in 2019!
They come with a textured aesthetic that looks like they were 3D printed! It also replaces the branding with the text “THE BRAND WITH THREE STRIPES” on the midsole. Furthermore, to make things worse, they come in Yeezy-esque colorways like Desert Sand, Lime Sand, and Carbon. In fact, they’re supposed to come out in 22 different colorways. The Adidas slides Yeezy twins drop on the 23rd of June for $55 on the Adidas website.
Apparently, these Adidas slides take inspiration from human expeditions to Mars in their gravity-defying futuristic design.

KANYE’S REACTION
Finally, what was Kanye’s reaction to the Adidas slides Yeezy mashup? On June 13th, Kanye took to Instagram in a now-deleted post to share his discontent with the brand. He alleged that Adidas copies his work and even called out their CEO, Kasper Rorsted.
“To Kasper, I’m not standing for this blatant copying no extra.” – Kanye wrote.
“This shoe is a fake Yeezy made by Adidas themselves.”
He even went further by calling the Adilettes a fake Yeezy and hinting he may end his partnership with Adidas. Four hours later, Ye took the post down. But, we don’t know if he’ll stand by his words or put the dispute to rest! For now, you can take a chance at copping a pair of these Adidas Slides Yeezy twins. Some of them have been doing pretty well on resale with averages reaching $100+.
