Chinese New Year Shoes: What to Expect in the Year of the Tiger?

By January 4, 2022January 6th, 2022Jordan, Nike

Chinese New Year Shoes - Year of the Tiger - AIO BotChinese New Year – AKA the Spring Festival – AKA the most important celebration of culture and history in China is approaching. And, in the sneaker industry, we celebrate with the release of the most epic Chinese New Year Shoes! But, let’s get into some culture so we can truly appreciate the value of these kicks!

The Chinese New Year came from an ancient battle against Nian. A scary beast that attacked people and ate their children… Not cool man. So, in order to defeat this beast, people used fireworks and firecrackers to chase it away! Furthermore, it became a day where farmers and workers got a day to rest and begin a new year. We kinda like that the most, a whole day off work! It’s also traditionally celebrated for 16 days, but we doubt we’re gonna get 16 days off work!

It is also a celebration of the Lunar New Year which is about 21 – 51 days behind international days. So, this year, our beloved Chinese New Year shoes will drop on the 1st of February, 2022!
