BUT, we feel like the OVO rapper won’t be heartless for long! Not when he’s getting his very own Air Force 1 dropping pretty soon! The Certified Lover Boy Nike collaboration might as well be the winning final frontier to the checks over stripes age-old debate.
Nike is the literal GOAT when it comes to sneaker collaborations. No cap. Always bringing the music and sneaker industries together in complete sneaker harmony! They struck gold with Travis Scott. So, why not do the same with his SICKO MODE partner?
This really got us a bit worried about the Adidas return. It seems to us that the Swoosh intends on serving the terminating KO punch in 2021. Like, we see the Three Stripes milking the Bad Bunny collab for all it’s got! Especially with the new Bad Bunny Response CL on the horizon. Or are they gonna depend on all the Yeezy restocks? You know, Blue Tint and Beluga can only do so much in damage control. Guess that’s fair trade.

If it ain’t obvious that Drake’s partnering up with Nike, just watch his official music video for “Laugh Now, Cry Later” and play count the Swoosh! The whole video centers around Nike and their headquarters. Trying his hand at every ball game there is, in every Nike sneakers there is! And now, Drizzy’s got some Certified Lover Boy Nike kicks to do his Toosie Slide in!
The Drake x Nike relationship goes way back to 2013 with an endorsement deal with the Jumpman. Together they rolled out OVO x Jordan sneakers and a NOCTA Nike sub-label in 2020! We even had an entire capsule of Certified Lover Boy merch. And to think that we’ve got to thank Pusha T for all this. Thank the sneaker lords for some celebrity beef! Or else, we would have been trying to cop some Drake Adidas Superturf considering they had a deal set!
God’s Plan for the Certified Lover Boy Nike AF1
There’s one thing for sure when it comes to these Certified Lover Boy Nike sneakers – ain’t no Fake Love here! The Nike Air Force 1 Low features white on white on white – classic triple white colorway. Of course, to add some of Drake’s magic, we got elevated premium leather instead of the regular smooth leather. But, the thing you’ll notice is the “Love You Forever” replacing the Nike Air branding on the midsole. A lover boy mantra.
Obviously, Drake loves starting from the bottom. Apart from the pretty cursive love note on the midsole, we’ve got an even cooler alteration. The greatest change in this Air Force 1 is the heartthrob heart-studded outsoles instead of the usual star-speckled ones! This is all giving us a lot of lovey-dovey sneaker vibes – we’re down for that!
