He sang about Jordans and Nike in 2018 with none other than the “checks over stripes” connoisseur, Drake. Then, created an epic sneaker collaboration with Adidas in 2021! Yup, you guessed it! We’re talking about the Bad Bunny Adidas sneaker collab – one of the most popular sneakers of the year.
The duo is back at it again, but with a bit of a twist! This time around Bad Bunny’s here to keep the ugly dad shoe trend alive – daddy issues maybe? Bad Bunny Adidas Old-School Vibes
The Bad Bunny Adidas Response CL is not the start of a whole Adidas lineup! It actually goes back to the 2000’s running technologies but with a bit of tweak and updates. The newest Response CL brings together all of the former silhouette’s greatest features. It has the upper of the ResponseCushion back in 2003, and the tooling of the mid-to-late 2000s technologies. This includes the Formotion and adiPRENE technologies!
Of course, in a very old-school, chunky dad shoes exterior.
The Bad Bunny version of the Adidas Response CL features mesh white with silver leather overlay panels on the uppers. We’ve got the grey three stripes down on the midsoles in light grey TPU. To tie it all together we’ve got the cream midsole with the AdiPRENE midsoles and possible BOOST in the heels. A VERY cushioned ride!
The overlay spills over onto the soles in a melted effect to create a cool wavy form. Of course, it’s covered in Bad Bunny’s signature logos including the Third eye logo on the heel. And, we can’t forget about the bunny on the insoles – a super important factor. The entire collab comes with a co-branded dust bag and sneaker box! Just what we like to hear!
Release Date: TBD 2021
The BUNNY Takeaway
The Bad Bunny Adidas sneaker looks a lot like the ZX 8000. You know, the alphabetical Adidas ZX collaboration list is set for completion this 2021. At first glance, they both sport the same silhouette! Albeit, the ZX does look a lot more rigid than the Response CL which looks very flexible! The Puerto Rican artist lent his unique character into this sneaker, that’s for sure. This makes us believe that this might just be the sneaker behind the Adidas return to the scene!
Can it be? Well, we’ll have to wait for the actual sneaker release to know. We don’t know how much it’ll retail for, or when it’s dropping – but, we think it’s soon. The sneaker gods know Adidas needs a push! Stay locked on our blog for any new updates on the Bad Bunny Adidas release!
