You know it’s a good year when Kanye comes up with a whole new Mono Pack of Yeezy Boost 350 V2s for us to cop – yes, a whole PACK. This iteration of Yeezys remains the most loved sneaker of all Yeezy history – even if a whole new silhouette like the Yeezy 450 drops, we will always stan the 350s! No cap, fam! But, there seems to be something different about these Yeezy 350 new sneakers. Something seems a little off about them. Not the colorways. Definitely not the name of the pack – we used to Kanye’s naming conventions by now. And, well, not the whole silhouette… It’s a WHOLE other type of material!
The Yeezy 350 new pack of sneakers features a replacement of our beloved Primeknit – no PK?? The pack – which includes four different colorways of the new Yeezy 350 sneakers – uses monofilament mesh instead of the famous Primenknit we have come to know and love! How’s it different and what does this mean for us? Keep reading to find out more.
Monofilament Mesh VS Primeknit
So, not to get too sciencey up in this joint, but we gotta break it down a bit – you gotta know what you’re paying for! What is monofilament mesh? So, monofilament mesh is sorta like a woven fabric made out of multiple single filaments – kinda like single threads. It’s a pretty strong type of material that doesn’t get too loose with time. You know the plastic mesh bags? Well, that’s kinda the vibe. We wonder how that messes up the Yeezy shoe fit! These new Yeezy 350 sneakers aren’t the first of the Yeezy line to get this type of material though. The Yeezy 700 V3s feature uppers composed of the same mesh used in these – they even have similar cages! The material is all in all more durable, rigid, and elastic. They also look like they’re easier to clean and harder to ruin. That’s a plus!
What About the PK?
On the other hand, the Primeknit material we’re so used to see on the Yeezy Boost 350s feels more like a sock than an elastic band. It is very lightweight, breathable, and comfortable with the perfect amount of support. The Adidas Primeknit also comes with waterproof GORE-TEX® lining to keep them dry! Although, the monofilament mesh offers a good amount of waterproof specs – well, it does give off the whole silicon vibe. But it also has tiny perforations all through – it IS mesh after all. Primeknits are generally more flexible, comfortable, and natural.
It all comes down to how your feet feel in either type of material! They probably both come from the same place! So, to really give a proper verdict on the sneaker, you gotta give it a try yourself! And, the only way you get a chance to become the perfect sneaker judge, is to cop a pair of the new Yeezy 350 sneakers as soon as they drop! So, when do these Yeezys drop?
The Yeezy 350 New Sneakers Drop
New year, new me, new Yeezy 350s! This all-new pack of Yeezys is called the “Mono Pack”… mono pack… Mono. Tryin’ to tell us something ‘Ye? You okay? Anyways, moving on! The pack of new Yeezy 350 sneakers includes four Yeezy Boost 350 V2 sneakers: Mono Mist, Mono Cinder, Mono Ice, and Mono Clay! Do we get that the Yeezy silhouettes in Mist, Cinder, and Clay all got Mono now? Although, the Mono Ice is one cool looking Yeezy – totally given’ us Night King vibes! Kinda giving us Yeezy Natural vibes too. When we think about Yeezy Boost 350s, we think Primeknit, BOOST midsoles, and a side stripe – we don’t think monofilament mesh. But, that’s exactly what it is this time!
The semi-translucent monofilament mesh replaces the Primeknit to showcase the inner cage that wraps around the foot. Could this change maybe be related to the possibility of Yeezys production moving to the US? Maybe! Only time will tell – so deep! The rest of the sneaker stays true to the 350 V2s – thank the sneaker lords! The colorways feature a warm brown Mono Mist, a dark black Mono Cinder, an icy blue Mono Ice, and a bright orange Summer-y Mono Clay! The more we look at this updated material, the more we’re diggin’ it!
